Thoughts of NYFW Fall/Winter '14 So Far

I headed over to Style.com, which I go to for all my NYFW needs. Sometimes for me New York Fashion Week can be a bit over kill. Like really are normal people ever going to wear what you have style for every model, ummm probably not. Not everyone walks down a runway every day of their lives. Some shows are so over styled that the average woman is like "How am I ever supposed to wear something like this?" Let's break is down, no one really is ever going to wear how they have styled it for the runway. I like to look at the pictures and chose pieces and take my imagination from there.

Everyone has their favorites and some of mine haven't shown yet aka Victoria Beckham and Michael Kors. So here's what I'm thinking so far...

Nicole Miller
Killed It. I'm in love with the use of different textures. Studs, feathers, leather, silk, she literally threw it all in there. I'm so In love. I wish she chose a different hair style, eye makeup is strong and on point for the girl she portrays, all in all LOVE.

Rachel Roy
Black and blue is something I wish I saw more of. When done right it can be so perfected, ie: THIS. Like helllooooo, those tailored pants and jacket or the blue underlay with the black applique on top. So beautiful.

Rebecca Minkoff
Oh look a color that isn't black for fall. Seriously, I love the jewel tones, mixed with metallics. So chic and rich looking.

Hervé Léger
Always staying in touch with the roots of Hervé Léger, the bandage dress was taken a different way with cut outs and almost cage like references. I love the use of textures again and for me one who does black so well is good in my book.

How to translate all of this to "normal" wear: Pick and choose your super trendy item and pair it with more classic items, jeans, leggings or plain knits. Or use the items you already have in your closet but use the trends utilized such as mixing textures or simple things with metallics.
